Licensed Penetration Tester
Objective of a Licensed Penetration Tester is to ensure that each professional licensed follow a strict code of ethics and are exposed to the best practices in the domain of penetration testing and aware of all compliance requirements required by the industry.
Unlike a normal security certification, the licensed penetration tester is a program which trains security professionals to analyze the security posture of a network exhaustively and recommend corrective measures authoritatively.
Requirements
- Achieve Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Certification or Qualified Security Hacker.
- Achieve ECSA Security Analyst certification
- Complete LPT Training Criteria:
- Fill up LPT Application form. A training source agreement approval should be endorsed by the sponsoring agency.
- Documentation on criminal background check, or an authentication from an investigation agency absolving a criminal history.
- Resume with detailed professional experience, previous certification /certificates and references for verification to be submitted.
- Agree to Code of Ethics.
- Attend LPT workshop

4. Why do I need to supply police verification?
Police verification is preferred, though not mandatory. However, one of the requirements of being able to avail a license in Penetration Testing is that the candidate should be able to supply a photocopy of his /her criminal background check that is available through any local law enforcement agency. The document should certify that the individual does not have any criminal record/background.
5. How is EC-Council's Licensed Penetration Testing course different from training and other methodologies?
The Licensed Penetration Testing course is taught by instructors who are experts and specialists in the field of Penetration testing and are qualified and licensed penetration testers themselves. Security University provides specialized training for licensed penetration testers to have a competitive edge in the information security market.
6. I have experience in Penetration Testing can I skip the LPT workshop?
It is mandatory for certified penetration testers to attend the LPT workshop. The LPT workshop is conducted by specialized and experienced LPT's who provide insights to common vulnerabilities to networks. The workshop is conducted by Licensed Penetration Testers at selected locations.

7. How do I apply for the Licensed Penetration Tester course?
A candidate would be able to apply for the Licensed Penetration Testing course after filling out the application form providing a training source agreement for approval that should be endorsed by the sponsoring agency. The candidate should also provide a photocopy of his/her criminal background check, for authentication. The candidate must agree to the EC-Council code of ethics.
8. How long is the License for Penetration Testers valid?
The validity of the license for the penetration tester expires after 2 years. The penetration tester can apply for renewal of license providing payment of 250 dollars to EC-Council.
